Winton Woods 5K For Better Hearing 8/25
Annual UC SAA 5k Run/Walk by UC Student Academy of Audiology
    Winton Woods Park
    Sat, August 25, 2018 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM EDT

We are a small student organization with the University of Cincinnati of Doctorate of Audiology students. We are devoted to providing treatment and communication solutions to individals with hearing loss. The annual 5k is our largest fundraiser of the year. The money we raise is used to continue community education, outreach and advocacy for individuals with hearing loss. The money is also used to purchase hearing aids for those under-served in rural Kentucky, Mexico, and Jamaica. I’m writing to ask you to donate to our race to help us raise more money. Being an organization tightly tied to Cincinnati, we are reaching out to you to continue our support of the community.

Join us for a lovely scenic 5k run/walk route, raffle baskets and learn about audiology and hearing loss!

This landlord bills himself as a turn-around artist, saving failing shopping malls.  I'm no expert, but tripling the rent on an 80 year tenant to pay for maintenance does not sound like a good technique for accomplishing this.  Remember the Butt Shack left because this. landlord. did. not. fix. anything.  However if another barber shop does rent that space soon, Bryan's comment on rates might be valid...

    SOLD: The Village Troubadour 8/23/17
From my heart to all of you.
It's difficult to make a decision that effects so many yet has to be made primarily with your own best interest in mind. I began the Village Troubadour as a dream of a community gathering place for everyone where good coffee, food and music could be enjoyed in a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. That dream has definitely come true. I know of no other place quite like it and it has been a great joy to be part of it. Along the way I encountered major obstacles both financially, physically and spiritually that seemed insurmountable at times. In fact, I had never experienced such relentless challenge and pressure before. Remember, I spent over 11 years ministering and living in tough places overseas so I understand difficulty. For nearly 4 years now it has been like a 24/7, 365 day a year job without real rest.
In any case, I believe it has come time to "Let go" and move on to whatever the Lord has for me next. Joyce has stood by me like a soldier and been a nurse, cook, bookkeeper, encourager, confidant and truth-teller through it all.
We have decided to sell the business to a very capable and accomplished restaurant man, Greenhills resident, Kevin Foster. He has great credentials as restaurant owner-operator and has been at it nearly his whole life. He and his wife Wendy bring a lot to the plate, pun intended. I believe the Fosters can take the Troubadour to the next level.
As of Wednesday August 23rd I will sign the deal that makes the Fosters the new owners of the Village Troubadour. Joyce and I will enthusiastically move on to the next challenge that awaits us, and I always make sure it is insanely interesting.
I thank you all for making the past 2 1/2 years since we opened very special and rewarding to me and Joyce as well. It's been my pleasure to have probably met 15 to 20 thousand new people and that's what I love most, making new friends. Joyce and I won't forget you and hope to see many of you at the restaurant from time to time. I know this comes as a shock to some of you but I feel you can understand. Sorry for the short notice, but we had a lot of things to accomplish and deadlines to meet in the process.
Joyce and myself along with Adam, Amy and Andrea moved to Cincinnati thirty one years ago in August and to Greenhills 27 years ago in August, (1990, the year the Reds won it all). This August we move on to new things that we are sure will be good.
God bless and keep you all,
    Marty Huff

    Corruption: Tri-County Mall
This story looks extremely complicated, but if $43. million was stolen, this may explain some of the long term woes at the Tri-County Mall property.  Perhaps others on this board know more details?
    Background:
Felix Sater —a Russian born, twice-convicted one-time Mafia associate and FBI informant — is "a real estate developer who in 2010 worked on the same floor as Donald Trump as his 'Senior Advisor'."
Daniel Ridloff worked with Felix Sater at Bayrock (co-developer of Trump SoHo Hotel) and later at the Trump organization.
Nicolas Bourg Swiss financier and president of a real estate fund (named Swiss Development Group, or SDG) that was controlled by the Khrapunov family “and used to conceal the movement and investment of his family’s money.”

Lakeview Drive is closed between Harbor Point and Bossi Lane due to storm water runoff.  See photo.Water at the walking bridge is quite high, but not at record levels at the moment.  See photo. The walking paths under the bridge at Winton Road are flooded out.Oh well, looks like photo posting doesn't work?  Trying links...https://nis.nikonimagespace.com/html/guest/index.html?g=n_EyLcf7CaQKGnS3IDNZn3Xz9R-uHevw215zaniWCNEEKjJt8Dwloh4MR5UCifLjCxuNRcAlV8QvwnklmVRc8A

Print out that map and start to strut!
    That's more important than whines
    about a lack of signs
    and as your motion glides
You just might reduce the size of your butt!

Or as James Brown sang it more eloquently:

Thanks for the map WWW!  IIRC, the Pioneer path is the same as the annual Pioneer Run / Bob Carlson 5K race.  Two years ago my dog won the canine division - a tidbit of important historical information for the record.

Here's a Pokemon for the Bengals.

    Cincinnati Bengals – Penaltiger
    Type: Fire
The Penaltiger is a formidable foe when found in the wild, but is actually a coward who will slink away and pout when forced to participate in an important battle.
